We sell and stock Gloss Meters in Australia. Measure the specular reflection of a surface in Gloss units (GU), at single or multi incidence angle units over a range from 0 to 200 GU. Special models for highly reflective metals are available to 1000 GU. Please contact us to discuss these options.
A gloss meter is used to measure the specular reflection in the form of Gloss units. A light source is directed on the surface at a fixed angle (usually 60°), and the light intensity reflected is measured. This result is supplied as a digital reading on the gloss meter and can be displayed in either whole gloss units (GU) or with a resolution to 1 decimal place.
It can be supplied as either singular incidence angle gloss unit or a multi angle gloss tester. The most common angle which most standards refer to is a 60° incidence angle and the multi angle units are typically 25°, 60° and 85° incidence angles.
